What do you do with a newborn? When we traveled for our adoption, my mom gave me a hard time because I wanted to pack a few things to do with the new baby. She said they will just eat, sleep, and poop, which is pretty much true. But even as little tiny newborns, they are awake from a little while and when Baby B is awake, we want to interact with her as much as possible. There are some super cute and fun baby toys out there, but these are our favorites.

From 0-3 months, babies are not able to interact much, so we had to find fun things for her to see and hear. We read a lot of books and listen to music often, but she also likes to look at and ‘play’ with different toys too. Her favorite things light up or make noise! These are our top 10 favorite toys for babies 0 to 3 months old.
1. Baby Einstein sea dreams
Baby B has loved looking at this toy from when she was just a few weeks old. Technically I think this is supposed to go in a crib, but we just lean it against something on the floor. It will make soothing wave sounds or play music. It also lights up and the fish move around too. She still loves it at almost three months old.
2. Cloud play mat and gym
I looked at a few play mats because there are so many out there, and this was my favorite. Each of the toys that hang down does something different like light up, rattle, or squeak. It’s also super soft and comes with a pillow that is perfect for tummy time.
3. Dancing dog
4. baby einstein take along tunes
5. Musical Octopus
6. Tummy Time Pillow
This looks like a regular Boppy, but it’s much smaller. This was much easier for us to use when doing tummy time, because the angle was just right for a tiny little one. Baby B really was able to practice tummy time when she was really young using this and it really helped with her neck strength.
7. Activity Mirror
Babies love to look at themselves. Even before their eyesight is clear, they will find the reflection of light in the mirror interesting. I love this cloud mirror because it can easily be propped up anywhere but then folds flat. It also matches our cloud baby gym.
8. Baby Bouncer
I love this baby bouncer because it is soft and cozy. It plays music and vibrates as well. When Baby B was younger, I would carry this around the house so I could plop her in it and get a few things done, like actually take a shower. I really liked how snug it was, so I could put her in it and not have to snap her in every time.
9. Sensory Shaker
10. water mat
This mat is great for tummy time and Baby B loves to feel the water are and look at the creatures. I would say this would be best for an infant closer to 3 months old, but may work at a younger age depending on your baby. As always with tummy time, make sure you supervise your little one when they play with this toy.
Even as Baby B has grown, she still loves to play with all of these toys. She has only started to outgrow the baby bouncer, so we need to start looking for other things she use as she starts to sit up.
